NATURAL CAFFEINE FROM GUARANÁ

Guaraná is a climbing shrub (paullinia cupana) belonging to the sapindaceae sapindoideae species found in areas of the tropical rainforest. Its inconspicuous, yellowish, white blossoms are arranged in panicles. When ripe, the dark yellowish-orange capsule fruit, which is about the size of a hazelnut, bursts and discharges dark brown seeds. These seeds have a white cover (arillus) on the bottom making it look like a human eye. Guaraná as a paste is gained from these roasted, ground seeds and is mostly sold in form of sticks. The plant mainly consists of roughage (55%), attached to which is guaranin – the plant’s own caffeine. This highly effective pure caffeine is free of irritants and tied to roughage and raw fibres. As guaranin is not digested via the stomach but the bowels, it has a slower effect and is more easily digestible even when consumed in higher quantities. Guaranin enhances mental activities and at the same time revitalizes respiration, muscle tone, and the heart; it assists in the relief of fatigue, cramp, depression and pains (especially migraine). Furthermore, it contains a large proportion of vitamin E, stimulates brain function and supports concentration.

TAURINE

Taurine is an essential amino acid found in the tissue of most animal species. It plays a major role in the regulation of cell volume. Combined with vitamin A, it creates an antioxidative protective effect on the cell membrane and particularly affects the cells of the central nervous system. Taurine is vital for the development of brain, retina and liver. It accelerates the breakdown of fats into high-energy connections in cells.
